THE QMAX QFIN TANK HEATING ADVANTAGE
QFin's Design Maximizes the heat input of a carbon or stainless steel internal heating coils and it is fully removable and replaceable. QFin is a bolt-on heating fin that attaches to any size pipe. The highly conductive aluminum material of QFin increases the heating surface area by 1,000% which allows for greater heating capabilities or decreased total length of the internal coil. QFin is specifically designed for high-viscosity fluids such as Asphalt, Bitumen and Coker Feeds to allow for easy removal and reinstallation of fins if the product cokes on the fins.
QFin Offers Consistent Results whether the goal is:
-
Process Temperature Maintenance
-
Rapid Process Heat-Up
-
Critical Process Freeze Protection

QMax Industries models the thermal characteristics of each application so the results of QFin are consistent. QFin can also be supplied as individual strips or as an entire internal coil bank assembly for one-pick installation. Please fill out our QFin Evaluation Questionnaire and send it to your representative for individual attention. We treat every application uniquely to offer the right solution for you.

Spiral-Welded Fins PROMOTE Coking!!!
Spiral-Welded fin tubes promote coking. Coking occurs when the liquid asphalt level drops below the fins and the coils kept hot with heating medium. Spiral-welded fin tubes are welded 3 or 4 fins per inch. Asphalt often sticks inside the tightly welded spaces and cokes when the liquid level drops.

QFin mitigates this coking because the fins are spaced apart appropriately. When the liquid level drops below the fins, the asphalt is allowed to run off the fins at each end.
